Sometimes was written as a song about love that has fallen apart. It happens, and it can be devastating to the ego. But one can learn from it and try not to repeat the same mistakes the next time around.
In this period of coronavirus I can't help but listen to the lines again and find a whole new meaning in them: "I hope I get it right this time, make sure to see the warning signs, there is nothing I want more." I hope that once this nightmare is behind us we will all learn to be more attentive to each other, to the environment, to our world. Let's see if we can get it right.
lyrics
Sometimes I lose my fire / What's the point of it all if I need your flame / Sometimes I get a little tired / Did I need your love to keep me sane / It's not a game, I'ts not a game / Something’s so wrong and I feel the blame / Never again, never again / Facing the days and feelin' such pain // I hope I get it right this time / Make sure to see the warning signs / There is nothin’ I want more / I walked behind and let you climb / Believed you when you fed me lies / Didn’t take nothing at all // Sometimes I walk the wire / How I balanced your love I will never know / Sometimes I can’t stop cryin’ / Did I try too hard to keep you close // It's not a game, It's not a game / Something’s so wrong and I feel the blame / Never again, never again / Facing the days, feelin' such pain // I hope I get it right this time/ Make sure to see the warning signs / There is nothin’ I want more / I walked behind and let you climb / Believed you when you fed me lies / Didn’t take nothing at all / I hope I get it right this time / Make sure to see the warning signs / How I balanced your love I will never know / I walked behind and let you climb / Believed you when you fed me lies / How I balanced your love I will never know / I will never know
